GoldenRod
Many of us suffer from allergies around this time of year! Goldenrod has often received a bad reputation as being the cause when ragweed is commonly the real culprit!
Beautiful, bright, cheerful goldenrod is commonly confused with ragweed for causing uncomfortable allergy symptoms when in fact this plant helps alleviate allergy symptoms!
Goldenrod attracts important pollinators, can be used in a salve for sore muscles, in tea or tincture form to help the urinary system in preventing infections, and can be used as a dye.
Mixed with Yarrow, another ally ready to harvest around this time of year, you can create a powerful anti-inflammatory mixture for your allergy symptoms, especially nasal congestion. If you are extremely allergic at this time, you may need more assistance along with these plants.
We often see plants growing around us at the times we need them. Go on an herb walk with your local herbalist and take notice of which plants may be here to help you at any given time!
Try out this tincture recipe. You can also use the same recipe to make a yarrow tincture to combine the two to relieve allergy symptoms.
